A City Where Black Power Won: The Origins of the Black Panther Party on College Campuses Paula Deroseney Dr. Carl Suddler AAS 385: Urban History 31 March 2016 The movement of African American migrants out of the South and into northern California laid the foundation for the development of the Black Panther Party (BPP), which served as a voice for the black community. With this new wave of black migrant families into California came a new, younger generation whose Southern roots had not yet been formed. As young migrants assimilated into their new environments, their exposure to higher education mixed with the culture of Oakland to promote the formation of young black militants into a radicalized group. These black youth benefited from the fact that California was the only state to pass the Master Plan in 1960, which promised to provide its residents higher education if they had a high school diploma. The education system in East Bay, specifically, laid the foundation for black revolutionary thought in Oakland and eventually the nation by promoting the development of a politicized community of black youth, ingraining black ra dical ideas into black students, and increasing the socialization of blacks from different origins and backgrounds. The passing of the Master Plan in California led to the increase of black students at East Bay colleges. It takes the right amount of eye contacts, body languages and facial expression to convey one’s idea in a convincing way. Additionally, teachers should get students involved in discussion and encourage them to exchange ideas in class because actively issues with peers can help students cope with different opinions. When discussing issues with peers, not only do students contribute to the class, but also they get a chance to be exposed to different ideas and perspectives. The company Mondelez International is a multinational American beverage, food and confectionary conglomerate that is based in United Sates. The Kraft food employees suggested in the use of the name Mondelez ,a combination of the words world and delicious. The name was changed in the year 2012. The products under the brand Mondelez include cookies and crackers, chocolate, gum and candy. The company Mondelez is chosen, as there are some products that are not available globally like Vegemite that is available in Australia. Vegemite is a product that is only sold in the Australian market by the Australian subsidiary of Kraft. Vegemite is a food paste of the dark brown texture, which is made from the remaining breweries extract. There are also some vegetables and spices added in it. Cyril P Callister in Melbourne developed this product in the year 1922 (mondelezinternational.com 2016). The similar type of product as Vegemite is also available Marmite of British and New Zealand, Promite of Australia, Mighty Mite and many more. Vegemite is salty and bitterly that is rich is Umami. When trying to enter the global market for the expansion of the product Vegemite the company has to consider the different aspects of marketing. The consumers are getting more evolved as they are able to comprehend the latest trend and that has mainly occurred through the internet or media penetration in the household.
